OCTOBER 2023
Imports
In the second quarter of 2023, selected countries experienced mixed growth rates in imports. Switzerland’s imports decreased by almost 7% relative to the previous quarter, but are still 7.26% above their level in the previous year. France experienced an increase in imports of 2.32% relative to 2022, which has been partially driven by a rise in imports of 1.6% compared to the previous quarter. Other countries experienced little growth, or even contractions (in particular the United States), in import levels. Among OECD countries, imports decreased by almost 0.6% relative to the previous quarter, and are now 0.35% below their level of the previous year.
