Dipeptide-2, a dipeptide composed of the amino acids valine and tryptophan (VW), has high bioavailability and shares similarities with essential components of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF). Dipeptide-2 stimulates lymphatic and vascular flow, reducing interstitial metabolic deposits in the lower eyelid area (bags). Its vascular action mechanism is based on inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), thereby prolonging bradykinin action. Within the lymphatic system, Dipeptide-2 increases the contraction frequency of lymphangiomas, which function as small lymphatic “hearts,” reducing the hypertensive effect linked to bags. Its soothing and decongestive properties in the periorbital area stem from its inhibitory effect on interleukin-6 (IL-6).

Pullulan is a natural polysaccharide of maltotriose obtained through fermentation of the Aureobasidium mold. Its capacity to form a laminated film on the skin’s surface, similar to the dermal extracellular matrix (DEM), provides moisturizing, lifting, and firming benefits. The film-forming effect of Pullulan offers support and structure to the orbicular area, which is characterized by low dermal thickness, while promoting the intercellular permeability of active ingredients with low molecular weight, such as Vitamin K oxide and optocosmetic peptides.
