JANUARY 2024
Investment
In the third quarter of 2023, the above selected countries experienced mixed growth rates in private investments relative to 2022, ranging from -2.87% in Switzerland to +2.84% in the United States. This pattern shows the significant heterogeneity in the investment response to tight monetary policies. Moreover, investors might also be delaying their investment decisions due to the uncertainty related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which triggered global ripple effects through financial markets. Despite these sources of uncertainty, the average growth in investments among OECD countries was almost 0.7 % relative to the previous quarter and 2.6% relative to the same quarter of the previous year.
